Ramanuja App — Android 1.7.0-android.1

Released 2026-09-23 · artifact Ramanuja.apk · 2.6 MB

Highlights

  • Sri Bhashya, Gita Bhashya with Tatparyacandrika, and Gitarthasangraharaksha in one reader
  • The Quotations and reference-abbreviation key
  • The Ontology Explorer (a reviewed vertical slice, not corpus-complete)
  • Offline full-text search across 1,439 passages
  • Sanskrit-first interface with a built-in Devanagari keyboard and IAST transliteration
  • Optional voice input on Android (uses the device speech recogniser)
  • Everything reads offline once installed

Known limitations

  • Qualification scope: the Śrībhāṣya navigation hierarchy (Adhyāya → Pāda → Adhikaraṇa → Sūtra), the three authorized Śrībhāṣya text corrections, asterisk-free search and deep anchors (including Gitābhāṣya) were verified at runtime on Android 10 for this build; reboot persistence and uninstallation were not independently re-verified and are not claimed.
  • This release is a debug build (buildType "debug"), signed with the debug key.
  • Voice recognition requests the sa-IN locale; results depend on the device provider and are shown for review, not auto-searched.
  • The Ontology Explorer is a reviewed vertical slice (14 concepts, 19 relations, 46 evidence records), not a complete corpus ontology.
  • Verse-level coverage of Gitabhashya / Gitarthasangraharaksha is partial because the source is raw OCR.
  • The release includes a microphone permission used only for the optional voice button.

Known limitations

  • Voice input is not implemented on Windows; the Voice button reports that it is unavailable.
  • The installer may use the internet once, to install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime if it is absent. Reading, navigation and search then work fully offline.
  • Qualification scope: reading, the Śrībhāṣya navigation hierarchy, the authorized text corrections, search (including the former stray-asterisk issue), deep anchors, the offline block, Back/Alt+Left and window resizing were verified for this build; reboot persistence and uninstallation were not independently re-verified and are not claimed.
  • The ontology and text coverage limitations are the same as the Android release.
